To save students money, NCC faculty, when possible, are increasingly choosing no- and low-cost (NOLO) texts. NOLO courses are then flagged in SIS.
If a resource is both free (no-cost) and openly-licensed it is considered an OER (Open Educational Resource). Because of its open license, an OER can usually be customized or "remixed" by faculty.
NOLO = under $40
OER = NOLO that is free and openly-licensed
This guide shows OERs that have been adopted by NCC instructors as of August 2022.
Note: The library also adds all NCC OERs to the NH OER Commons Hub. If you know of an OER that should be added to this guide, please email Fran Keenan or Troy Nikander at email@example.com. See the Faculty section of this website for more information about NOLOs and OERs at NCC.
